Elmos is exhibiting at the international VDI Congress ELIV (ELectronics In Vehicles) from 18 to 19 October 2017 in Bonn. We will show, e.g. new ultrasonic ICs for the parking assistance, semiconductors for gesture control in vehicles and drivers for stepper, DC and BLDC motors. The ICs will be presented at the congress with the help of demonstrators so that the function can be tested in the application.
Elmos is the world market leader for semiconductors for ultrasonic distance measurement in vehicles. In the development process of the new IC E524.08 and E524.09 a special emphasis was placed on optimum distance measurement. Thus the revised signaling path currently supports distance measurements between 10cm and 600cm. Even larger distances are possible with optimised system hardware and under favourable ambient conditions. Putting the ICs into operation is very straightforward. Many configurations can be realised quickly via the communication interface. There is no need for own software development to control the transducer and evaluate the signal that is received. All of these functions are already handled by the ICs.
Elmos is also world market leader for the approximity and gesture recognition in the car. With the E909.21 Elmos presents the next generation of these ICs. The semiconductors offers the user a simple and targeted solution. In this system, the object recognition and motion analysis operate in real-time based on simple infrared technology. The IC features the best available extraneous light immunity and an automated systems calibration. The new IC can be easily scaled to accommodate all current commercial and future display sizes and shapes.
With the E523.30/39, Elmos presents motor drivers for bipolar stepper motors. The components feature a sensorless end position/ stall detection. Moreover, the IC can be additionally connected to up to 3 Hall sensors or potentiometers for highest demands on the motor’s position detection. The Elmos component can be directly integrated into the actuator, thus saving space. Potential fields of use or applications for the E523.30/39 are stepper and DC drive systems as well as various automotive applications such as the active air flow elements, headlight, curve light, or valves driver.
With the E523.52 IC, Elmos is presenting a fully integrated motor controller for brushless DC (BLDC) motors for 48V electrical system. The E532.52 can be operated with a supply voltage of up to 72V. It integrates a powerful 16-bit microcontroller with special motor controller hardware support. The IC controls 3 NMOS half bridges for motor powers up to approx. 1000 W. The integrated DC/DC buck converter is designed for voltages of 11V/100mA for gate drivers and other loads. Furthermore, this chip also features various monitoring and diagnostics functions for the MosFets.
We are looking forward to your visit!
