The High Ambient Light Independent Optical System (HALIOS®) is based on a compensation principle similar to an optical bridge. The high sensitivity resulting from this enables the detection of gestures (e.g. movement of a finger or hand) without the use of mechanical elements. The integrated circuit (IC) prepares the signals based on optical reflections to objects to be detected and therefore, allows concluding the position of the object in all three directions in space to the sensor.
